Pierce College TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is one of three TRIO programs in the Student Engagement Services division. TRIO Student Support Services provides holistic student services that promote the academic development and motivation needed for successful completion of post-secondary degree and transfer goals. We provide proactive advising, mentoring and coaching, university transfer tours and assistance, as well as social and cultural engagement opportunities. Most of all, we offer a supportive family community of peers, staff and faculty, and leaders to help you succeed.

Annually, TRIO SSS provides holistic services to eligible students who identify as the first in their family to attend college (first generation), low income, and students with disabilities from diverse backgrounds that present an academic need for support. TRIO SSS goals are to increase the retention, graduation, and university transfer rate for all enrolled program students.  TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is one of the eight Department of Education TRIO grants that Pierce College first won in 2001 to serve the students at Fort Steilacoom. The TRIO SSS grant is on a five year funding cycle and funded through August 31, 2025!
