When will classes resume at the Pierce College portable on Spanaway Lake High School campus?

Courses will be offered again this Winter in the portable classrooms on Spanaway Lake High School campus. 

These day-time courses involve in-person sessions on scheduled days and times. Courses will be hybrid, combining scheduled class sessions and online course activity to afford maximum flexibility.

Students are encouraged to watch for Campus Announcements and pay close attention to Course Details.  

Is there help available if I’m just getting used to Canvas and figuring out how to access online materials?

Yes, we’re committed to helping you succeed. The college has extensive support available to help you navigate Canvas and online sites and resources. Visit our eLearning web page for tips and tutorials and look for direction from your instructor.

Will I receive college credit for the Pierce College courses I take at this site?

Yes. All courses offered at Spanaway are credit-bearing. Each course will apply towards an associate’s degree. Pierce College students will earn credit for satisfactory completion of each course.

Will I have to pay tuition?

Yes. Once registered, tuition for courses will be due within a specified time period. Students may be eligible for financial aid or special funding, e.g., College Bound, Worker Retraining, or Veterans Benefits. Running Start is also available and college tuition for eligible classes is covered through Running Start.

Who will teach these courses?

Faculty who teach at the Puyallup, Lakewood, and JBLM campuses will also teach at Pierce College at Spanaway.
