Student Design Studios
The Design Studios provide students with resources for their various class-related design and production needs. The Fort Steilacoom studio is located in the library on the fourth floor in room CAS405, and the Puyallup Design Studio is located in AAH132 in the Arts and Allied Health Building.
The centers are funded through student technology fees and are open to all Pierce College students. A STAT multimedia facilitator is available to answer questions and provide one-on-one and group training.
What Can I Do in the Design Studios?
Each studio is equipped with computers (PC and Mac) to provide students with the tools to make digital projects, including web development, graphics and animation, digital audio and video, and multimedia authoring using several software programs.
The knowledgeable Student Technology Assistance Team (STAT) is available during all open hours to assist students with DSLR cameras and camcorders as well as peripheral equipment such as microphones, tripods, and lighting equipment. They also provide one-on-one help to students enrolled in a variety of classes that use multimedia, such as Digital Filmmaking, Digital Design, ASL, Photography, Theatre and 4D Design as well as many other classes in which multimedia projects are required.
A recording studio is also available inside the Fort Steilacoom location. Inside you’ll find various software and hardware for producing and engineering music and video.
