ASPIRE Community Events

ASPIRE Summer Programs

ASPIRE Summer STEM camps are open to all high school students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades in Pierce County. Our summer camps are a great way to meet new friends, improve skills, and explore new interests.  Participants have the opportunity to experience life on a college campus, and meet college mentors and staff.

ASPIRE Summit

The annual ASPIRE Summit provides the opportunity for middle and high school Asian American, Pacific Islander and all students an opportunity to engage with Pierce College staff, faculty, and local community members who share same cultural background or similar lived experiences. The ASPIRE Summit focuses on igniting passion and purpose through a day of empowering workshops centering identity, career pathway exploration, and leadership skill development.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is celebrated in the month of May to commemorate the different cultures that contribute to the wider Asian and Pacific Islander identities. Throughout the month, all students, staff and community alike are invited to engage with guest speakers and activity workshops that teach about the richness of Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures.

The Samoan Arts and Academic Competition (SAAC)

SAAC promotes the practice of cultural arts through dance and the academic achievement open to all high school student participants. In partnership with local two- and four-year colleges and organizations, Pierce College’s ASPIRE program is a proud partnering sponsor of SAAC.
